In fact, I have never experienced racism in Bollywood till date. But, in Pune I have faced these things. Bollywood accepted me and appreciated my work but when I went for an audition in Pune, I faced racism. Once I went to meet Girish Karnad. Another girl came with her mother. The girl’s mother overheard what I did not want. He asked me, why are you here? On this I said that I have come to meet Girish Karnad. Because I didn’t know their purpose. The woman did not stop here. ‘Have you ever seen your face in the mirror? Black girls don’t look good on camera’, she looked at me and said.

I was upset for a while, but within 15 to 20 minutes I met Girish Karnad. He talked to me, praised me, so the woman’s point of view did not matter to me.
