Born in a simple Konkani family in Sadashivgad village of Karwar district of Karnataka, Jayashree was fond of dancing and singing. When Jayshree was five years old, her family moved to Mumbai. Jayshree did her further studies in Mumbai. Here he continued to learn Kathak dance as well as singing. Jayshree worked as a child artist in many Marathi films. His first film was ‘Tamasha’. Photographer Ram Devtale captured Jayshree’s dance performance at a function and posted it in his studio. Dinkar Patil, who came to Ram’s studio, saw Jayshree’s pictures and gave her a chance to dance in the film ‘Disat Tasan Nasat’.

There, director Raja Paranjpe noticed her and offered her a chance to act in a film. After that Jayashree did not look back. Jayshree has worked in popular films like ‘Sangte Aika’, ‘Avghachi Sansar’ and ‘Manini’. Jayshree has also worked in Tamil, Gujarati, Bhojpuri and Punjabi films. Jayshree won the Best Actress Award for three consecutive years for her films ‘Saadhi Manasam’, ‘Patlachi Soon’ and ‘Thumb Laxmi Kunku Lovete’.
