Mangalore: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes has been admitted to the hospital due to injuries sustained in his house. He is being treated in the ICU of a private hospital in Mangalore.
Oscar Fernandez spiraled out of control at home early on Sunday. It was found that he had suffered a head injury. But Oscar was careless in that he did not suffer massive injuries. After that, he was admitted to the hospital for routine treatment and was found to have sustained a head injury. So the operation was done. After surgery, he is being treated in ICU.
Oscar Fernandes was the Union Minister during the UPA government. He also served as the Minister of Roads, Transport, Highways and Labor. He also served as the Parliamentary Secretary to Rajiv Gandhi. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Udupi constituency of Karnataka from 1980 to 1996. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1998 and 2004.
