Netflix, the world’s largest OTT company, is soon going to be launched in the video gaming industry. Netflix has hired Mike Verdu, a well-known programmer who has previously worked at Electronic Arts and Facebook. Mike Verdeau has been appointed Vice President of Netflix Game Development.
Netflix is currently leading in films and TV shows in the OTT sector of many countries including India. Netflix subscribers are so widespread in many affluent countries around the US that the company is no longer able to grow in the region. This is why Netflix is now conscious of the gaming and children’s entertainment industry.
Bloomberg News reported that Netflix will address its sources, adding that Netflix will expand its subscriber base and services within the next year. Games in the form of documentaries and stand-up specials may also develop into a separate programming journal in the near future. In the early days, Netflix was offering this service at no extra cost. Verdu is reporting to Netflix Chief Operating Officer Greg Peters.
For the past few years, Netflix has been directing its entry into the video gaming market. For this, the company’s first announcement came out in 2019. Positive efforts in this regard started last May.
Netflix also announced that it will introduce two new options for kids in the near future. One of these is the kids recap email. With this option, the parent’s email gets the child’s activity information. It will also inform parents about the choices kids can make on Netflix. Parents can also visit tips so that kids can watch the show. This option is effective from 16 July. This will be visible to people who have a child account linked to their Netflix profile.
Another option that Netflix is offering is Kids Top 10. It will show 10 popular titles for kids. This list is up to date every day. The badge will appear on all devices that don’t have the Netflix Kids Top 10 label for an event or movie. This list can be found in the New and Popular section of the Kids profile. The Kids Top 10 line is already active in 93 countries.
